In December 2024 we connected with the Virgin del Carmen school in Cordoba, Spain. Our children connected by sending Christmas cards and pen pal letters. In February we received a fantastic tour of their school! We're hoping to invite the students to Welton later in the year! Click here to view their video:
At Welton, we recognise the importance of developing international connections and are delighted to be taking part in the UK Government's Turing Scheme. This exciting programme provides funding for international opportunities in education and training across the world. It supports Global Britain by providing an opportunity for UK organisations from the higher education, further education, vocational education and training and schools sectors to offer their students, learners and pupils life-changing experiences to study or work abroad. At Welton, Mr Snell was successful in bidding for a grant to develop our international connections and in 2024, children from our Year 5 class, together with Year 5 pupils from Shoscombe Church School and St John's CofE Primary School connected with pupils in Skola Da Vinci in Prague. The theme of the project was 'One Connected World' and focused on wellbeing - How do our schools promote and support positive wellbeing of the students and communities within their cultural setting? In 2025 we are once again taking part in the Turing project with Year 5 children connecting with schools in Prague and Barcelona.

Over the last year we have also hosted online sessions with the children and staff at the Maria Assumpta School, Uganda, whereby children share what life is like in their schools and ask each other questions. Each year we also welcome students and staff from SAI International School, India, who visit Welton and take part in collaborative projects.
