At Welton, we recognise the importance of developing international connections and are delighted to be taking part in the UK Government's Turing Scheme. This exciting programme provides funding for international opportunities in education and training across the world. It supports Global Britain by providing an opportunity for UK organisations from the higher education, further education, vocational education and training and schools sectors to offer their students, learners and pupils life-changing experiences to study or work abroad. At Welton, Mr Snell has been successful in bidding for a grant to develop our international connections and in 2024, children from our Year 5 class, together with Year 5 pupils from Shoscombe Church School and St John's CofE Primary School have been connecting with pupils in Skola Da Vinci in Prague. The theme of the project is 'One Connected World' and is focusing on wellbeing - How do our schools promote and support positive wellbeing of the students and communities within their cultural setting? By wellbeing we wish to help our children to learn strategies to help themselves and their peers to feel good.

In addition, we have regular online sessions with the children and staff at the Maria Assumpta School, Uganda, whereby children share what life is like in their schools and ask each other questions. Each year we also welcome students and staff from SAI International School, India, who visit Welton and take part in collaborative projects.
