The intent of our Geography curriculum is to ensure that pupils experience a wide breadth of study and enquire about an ambitious body of knowledge stored in their long term memory, which in turn will prepare them for future learning and life, including future careers.

The breath of our Geography curriculum is adapted to our beliefs about the needs of our pupils and our values as a school. We have agreed that within our Geography curriculum, Welton children need:

• To experience the local environment first hand through trips and visits
• Opportunities to learn about the physical and human features of the world beyond Midsomer Norton
• To appreciate the subject through aspirational visitors, role models and events for future career
